Delhi resident held for running fake racket

With his stationary shop, he would have to teach school children how to use pencils, pens and erasers. But Brahm Dutt Kalia had other ambitions in life: earning easy money with easy caught!

A resident of Nangloi, in West Delhi, Kalia, impostoring himself to be a retired BSF officer, had been running a fake educational centre luring many gullible youths to provide them jobs in the Central paramilitary force for long. His main targets are youths from Haryana, Punjab and Western UP and used to take Rs5 lakh for appointing youth in BSF. Interestingly as it is, he took the exam by roadside and issued appointment letter of BSF and identity card.

A police officer said that Kalia used to give an account number to his victims and asked them to deposit the money.

State’s two lads — Manoj and Magnesh Baghel were among the victims of his nefarious design. Kalia gave them the appointment letters of head constables in the BSP and identity cards.

As the luck runs out of Kalia, both the boys, sensing deception with his behaviour, complained to the police and ultimately, this Delhi resident was caught on time.

However, Brahm Dutt Kalia, in police custody, pleaded innocence.

He says that he is llB pass, but never to be a retired employee of BSF.

He reportedly confessed to the police that one Ashok Sir alias Master Ji, who runs a coaching centre at Delhi’s Janakpur area, is the master mind behind the fraud.

He came into contact with Manoj and Magnesh Baghel who run tea stall.

He told them that he can get them appointed in BSF on payment of Rs5 lakh. After taking the money Kalia gave appointment order of BSF and identity card with batch no. uniform, belt and shoes. He came to Gwalior and took Rs15,000 separately.

TI Kotwali Satish Chaturvedi said that the accused is being interrogated. The senior officers of BSF have been apprised of the incident.

In the afternoon the SSP called the family members of Kalia and are expected to come to Gwalior from Delhi.
