Ironical as it sounds, the BJP's defeat in the Delhi Assembly election has given a reprieve of sorts to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.Though there was no direct indication, the buzz in Bhopal in the past few weeks has been that UAD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya's stakes were high in team Amit Shah.
The defeat has been a setback to the so-called exercise of the Central leadership to promote a second line leadership in the State. After Shivraj Singh Chouhan came to power third term, he seemed firm in the saddle, but there had been talks that he might be replaced. later, when UAD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya was inducted in the national team of BJP president Amit Shah that was formed for campaigning in the Delhi elections, it was termed that Vijayvargiya is being elevated against Chouhan's tall image.
