The State Government on Tuesday filed a defamation case against Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson KK Mishra.
Government pleader Anand Tiwari, who filed the case, however, said the court would decide on the suit on June 26, whether in this matter to register a case or not.
The case was filed on behalf of the State Government and not by Chouhan or his wife Sadhna Singh against whom Mishra had made allegations.
State Congress chief spokesman KK Mishra had last week demanded a CBI probe to unearth the nexus among middlemen, politicians, bureaucrats and education mafia which is behind the scam.
While talking to media persons, he had on Saturday released the documents including the SMS record in which the messages were purportedly sent by various people, including politicians and even some journalists among others, to the MPPEB exam controller Pankaj Trivedi and the system analyst Nitin Mahindra, both the main accused in the case, and mining baron Sudhir Sharma.
On the other hand, the Congress has intensified its attack on the Chief Minister and dragged the name of another relative of his in Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examination scam and has alleged that the candidate is a close relative of the Chief Minister and received undue favour in the state Public Service Examinations to get through.
The MP BJP has refuted the allegations. Chouhan on Monday had declared that he would file a defamation suit against Congress but today the case was filed only against Mishra for alleging his and his wife's involvement in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam.
The BJP State unit president and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and party vice-president Prabhat Jha came forward and defended Chouhan to dismiss allegations made by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee.
