The hearing in the defamation case filed by leader of Opposition in Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mohammed Sagheer against Mayor Alok Sharma has been postponed till January 28.
Notably, Sagheer had alleged that Mayor Alok Sharma had said that he was ‘mentally ill’. Sagheer had also sent a notice to the Mayor regarding this through the advocate Abrar Ahmed Khan. Sagheer has demanded through the notice that the mayor should apologize for his remark as it has affected his respect.
The issue started as a tea stall of a relative of Sagheer got raze down. Sagheer started complaining against the encroachments afterwards. He had also failed to get the permission to cut down 200 trees.
Moreover, he had also locked horns with the BMC Commissioner Chhavi Bharadwaj over the same issue. Bharadwaj had also complained against Sagheer to the divisional commissioner through a letter.
