Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed happiness on behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh for the initiative taken by Prime Minister Modi to install a grand statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose near India Gate in the national capital New Delhi and termed it as a laudable step.
Chouhan said that Amrit Mahotsav of freedom is being celebrated in the country. It is also the year of 125th birth anniversary of brave warrior Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Due to this, the decision taken by the Prime Minister is relevant and helpful in inculcating the feeling of patriotism among the citizens.
To commemorate the sacrifices and contributions of our immortal martyrs, we undertake the task of erecting statues, issuing postage stamps and publishing books focused on them in public as mark of respect. In Madhya Pradesh also, an initiative has been taken to open Jabalpur Jail, where Netaji was imprisoned, for public viewing. Many functions and theatrical performances are organised expressing respect to the martyrs of the tribal society of Madhya Pradesh.
