A deaf and dumb youth was taken into custody by police on Friday for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in village Siradi.
The 25-year-old accused allegedly raped the minor
when she was going to an agriculture field to give food to her father on March 17, Doraha Police Station in-charge, VD Veera said.
The deaf and dumb youth was apprehended from his residence, police said.
Soon after committing the crime, he escaped from the village, but was caught when he reached home.
A case was registered in this regard under relevant
sections of the IPC by the police and further investigations are on.
