Kin of a boy patient, who died while undergoing treatment at Medicare hospital, created ruckus at the
hospital premises on Thursday, accusing the hospital administration of negligence in treatment.
Soon after the hospital administration announced death of a 14-year-old boy, family members of the deceased vandalised the
hospital. The family members not only used blows and
kicks to damage the window panes, but also brought out sticks to attack.
It was only after arrival of police jawans that tense situation in the hospital was brought under control and body of the boy was sent to MY hospital for postmortem.
According to report, the deceased identified as Divyanshu (14), son of Jai Dhiman, a resident of Chhoti Gwaltoli had been admitted to Medicare hospital after complaint of pain in his ear. Diagnosis by the hospital doctors revealed that a matchbox stick had got stuck in his ear and accordingly they suggested the family members for an operation.
The family members alleged that hospital doctor had administered anesthesia on the boy to make him unconscious to perform operation. However, soon after anesthesia injection, the condition of child deteriorated and he was put on ventilator. Family members alleged that they came to know about child's death only on Thursday morning as hospital doctors hid his death.
The hospital authorities have demanded security to the hospital from the district administration as it has become a routine affair to vandalize the hospital accusing negligence in the treatment.
