Daughter of television actor Rakesh Diwana, who died on Sunday night in Indore after he had developed complications following a weight loss surgery has alleged anomalies on part of Mohit Bhandari and his team at Arubindo hospital while performing her father's weight loss surgery.

In this regard, she has also lodged an FIR against the doctors of the hospital with Indore police. In her complaint to the police, Richa, daughter of television actor alleged that the doctors of Mohak hospital gave an excessive dose of anaesthesia to him and did not take up precautionary measures.  After his death, Rakesh Diwana's body was flown to Hathras where post-mortem of his body was performed before his last rites.

Television actor Rakesh Diwana (48) who had played the role of Kumbhkarna in popular serial ‘Ramayana’ telecast in 2008-09 and also acted in some other serials like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai wherein he played the role of Maharaj Ji, died on Sunday.

He had come to Indore few days back for his weight loss surgery. He had been admitted to Mohak hospital on April 20. He had reportedly developed complications following a weight loss surgery that he underwent at a hospital in Indore four days back. Soon after the incident, his family members alleged that Diwana died due to negligence on the part of hospital.

However, the hospital management dismissed the charge. “Diwana had undergone bariatric surgery on April 23 and at that time his condition was normal. After the procedure, he suffered hypertension and brain stem dysfunction which deteriorated his condition and he was shifted to ICU,” the hospital said in a statement.
