GST Bill will benefit all States: BJP

State vice-president of Bharatiya Janata Party Raghunandan Sharma said that the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Bill is expected to be passed in the next parliamentary session. This would benefit all the States.

With the coming of GST Bill the Gross domestic product (GDP) would come down to two digits and its direct benefit will be for State governments. It will not only unburden the administrative responsibility of collecting taxes, but also dissolve the corruption related to the collection of taxes.

He further said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving the GST bill special importance to make the conditions suitable for foreign investors. Modi is also appealing to the opposition for supporting this bill and he is getting a positive response. One reason behind the support is that other than Congress all other parties in the nation can see the benefits of GST bill in their region. Thus most of the regional parties are excited about getting this bill passed.

Sharma further said that Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, National Congress Party, DMK, JDU, Trinamul Congress has changed their views on this bill and it is getting reflected and they all are recognizing the benefits. This bill will be certainly passed in Rajya Sabha.

GST bill is considered one of the important steps in economic reformation, he added.

Notably, Congress has also claimed in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday May 11, 2016 that the “real opposition” to the GST Bill was coming from within the Government and it was ready to give full support to it if its three key recommendations are accepted.
