The lifespan of Ratnavali, wife of Tulsidas will be depicted through a dance drama Ratnavali. The dance drama would be staged for the theatre-goers of the city here on Monday at Shaheed Bhawan Auditorium.
To be performed by the artists of Ardhikal Samiti, the dance drama is choreographed by a noted ballet choreographer and a theatre personality Vaishali Gupta. Further, the dance drama Ratnavali is written by Director of Nirala Srijanpeeth, Diwakar Verma.This dance drama will feature the life style of Tulsidas’ wife Ratnavali and how she inspired Tulsidas to get more devoted to lord Rama. Further, this play Ratnavalli would be staged in the form of Indian ballet with the touches of some modern ballet as well. Some dialogues have been added to the script to make the ballet look more interesting to watch.
As this deals with the biography of a person whom very few people know about, it will be presented in an elaborated form. So the chorepgrapher Vaishalki Gupta has presented this ballet from the childhood of Ratnavali till she died in front of Tulsidas.
While talking about the ballet, choreographer of the dance drama Vaishali Gupta said, “Well, to depict somebody’s story is easy, but to depict the life of any person is a bit difficult on stage as there is a difference between a biography and a story about a person. Moreover, if there is a little information it becomes more difficult, as we had rare information about Ratnavali still it was fun working on this script. We staged this ballet earlier in Tulsi Parv in year 2013 and received huge appreciation from our viewers,” she added.
