State cyber cell nabbed two persons involved in blackmailing a 20-year-old girl by creating her fake Facebook profile; accused created fake account after she rejected his proposal.
The nabbed miscreants were identified as Prajawal Chourasia of Balaghat and Anurag Baghel of Seoni.
The victim Anjali Rathod is preparing for medical entrance and after she found that a fake facebook profile has been created on her name she lodged a complaint with the state cyber cell.
In her complaint she stated that using the fake profile messages, photographs and videos were shared with the intent to defame her and her family. The accused tried to harass her over the fake account and used to threaten her using the same account.
Based on the complaint it was found that the fake profile was created by the two miscreants who were later nabbed.
The police have registered a case under section 66 C of the IT Act and section 468 of the IPC has started further investigation.
The main accused Prajawal was preparing for engineering entrance and had studied with the victim.
Prajawal’s friend Anurag is a farmer and helped him with the details of creating the fake profile.
The victim got acquainted with Prajawal as she had studied with her in school in Balaghat and later her family shifted to Bhopal.
Few months back Prajawal met the victim and proposed her but she refused which annoyed the victim. Enraged over the victim he created fake facebook profile with the help of Anurag.
