'Criminals using face cover in hot weather to commit crimes'

Patrolling should be intensified to maintain law and order situation in the city, Home Minister Babulal Gaur told senior police officials here on Friday. He also asked the cops to request those riding two-wheelers with covered faces to move without covering their face as anti-social elements use veil to commit crime.

On Friday morning, a delegation of Congressmen headed by State Youth Congress president Kunal Choudhary handed over a memorandum to the Home Minister raising concerns about the law and order situation in the city and urged the Minister that using veil as a shield miscreants are committing crimes in the city.

Around 90 per cent of people who mask their faces try to protect their face from the sun and dust but the remaining 10 per cent are dangerous as their intentions are evil and endanger others. It has been found that criminals make use of the opportunity covering their face to hide their identity and commit crimes, said Youth Congress leader Amit Sharma.

The State Youth Congress president while speaking to media persons expressed surprise over the deployment of heavy police force at Gaur's residence and said that they have fixed an appointment with the Minister well in advance for handing over the memorandum and deployment of such a huge police force is meaningless and told that they have not gone for agitation or staging any protest.

Raising concern over the law and order situation of the State, Choudhary said , “In a State where the Chief Minister's mother could become a victim of robbery, how can the citizens feel safe.”He said that if the same force which is deployed at Gaur's residence would be used in the city the crimes would be curbed at a faster pace.
