A notorious criminal who had attacked an assistant sub-inspector of police with a sharp-edged weapon at Chhawani area two months ago and carried a reward of Rs10,000, surrendered here at the Koh-e-Fiza police station on Friday. It was a major failure on part of the Bhopal north division that in the past one month the investigation regarding search for the criminal could not proceed even an inch. The criminal voluntarily surrendered at the police station. Surprisingly, denying facts, Superintendent of Police Bhopal North Arvind Saxena claimed that the police arrested the criminal by conducting raids across the city. However, he could not reply satisfactorily as why the police did not conduct such raids earlier. On April 22 the assistant sub-inspector of police was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and the accused went absconding. The accused, Faheem Bam, attacked the policeman, Udhaybhan Singh Parihar, when the latter tried to catch him.
