Crime Branch police nabbed 2 gamblers, recovered Rs 9 lakh cash; accused used to betting by creating website.The police have recovered 6 ATM card and 8 mobile phones which were used to place bets.
The two used website sattamatka.play.in and sattamatka.mobi.com. The gamblers used to place bets on figures 0 to 9. Accused used to collect and make payment through e-wallet.
On inquiry, both the accused told that we had developed two online websites to earn illegal profits by betting. Through these sites, people used to join and betting. Abdul Iftikhar (27) Nishatpura and Saud Khan (19) of Aishbagh.
Acting on a tip-off, two gamblers were nabbed who were caught placing bets. Abdul has been booked for gambling in the year 2016 by Jehangirabad. The operator and master mind behind the gambling Abdul was nabbed. A case under Gambling Act was registered by the police and further investigation has been started.
The mobile phones recovered from the possession of the accused would be investigated and details of persons who are involved in placing and accepting bets would be revealed.
