The Crime Branch arrested a bookie who was accepting and placing bets online on IPL matches , a mobile phone and cash Rs 4,500 were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The accused used to place bets through the online website www.grandexch.com. A team of Crime Branch received information from the about a person standing in the Dussehra ground and talking on mobile phone, is playing bet on IPL cricket match.
The Crime Branch team reached the Dussehra ground after getting the information where the boy of the person told by the informer was seen talking on the mobile. The person who was caught who was identified as Abhishek alias Babu Patil (26) of Barkheda Pathani Govindpura Bhopal.

On interrogation of accused he accepted to place bet on IPL cricket match by giving ID, and failed to present valid documents for betting. A case under 4A Gambling Act was registered against accused.
No criminal record has been obtained in the further and investigation has been started.
Mobile phone recovered from the accused would be investigated for obtaining details of other bettings and nexus.
