Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded on Thursday that the encounter of eight activists of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) should be investigated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
In a statement, CPI’s Secretary Shailendra Kumar Shaily stated that the officials have violated the instructions of the Supreme Court during the encounter of the SIMI activists. Other agencies could not conduct the investigation with transparency due to the pressure of the Government. CPI would also appeal to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee to order investigation by NIA under the supervision of Supreme Court, he added.
Shaily said that the CPI do not support SIMI or its activists as this organisation is misleading the youth and it blocks the agitation of the labors and poor people. CPI has always protested against the radical terrorism. The Government and the police officials should have arrested the activists alive after they escaped the Bhopal Central Jail in order to investigate the irregularities and corruption of the Bhopal Central Jail.
Shaily further stated that the Government had gunned down the eight activists in order to conceal these issues. This incident has raised several questions among the people regarding the MP Police. Government should create a situation of transparency and should answer the questions of the people.
The Central and the State Government are terrorising the people, who criticise the policies of the Government by declaring them terrorists, he added.
Shaily further added this condition is depressing and it is also harmful for the democracy. He has expressed grief over the murder of the Bhopal Central Jail Head Warder Ramashankar Yadav.
