Court verdict a befitting reply to Digvijay: Kailash

Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya here on Thursday alleged that the court’s decision on Batla House encounter was a befitting reply to Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, who had termed it a fake encounter.

“It is unfortunate that the Congress general secretary, who is a very senior and a respected leader and was the Chief Minister of the State for 10 years, talks in such a manner about such a sensitive matter. The decision is a slap on his party’s face,” Vijayvargiya said. Referring to Singh’s remark that RSS imparts training to its workers on ways to prepare bombs, he wondered why Singh, who was the State Chief Minister for 10 long years, did not take action against the organisation.

Dismissing as baseless Congress MP Sandeep Dixit’s charge that MP Food Security Scheme is merely a copy of the Centre’s food programme, he said he would like to remind Dixit that the State had framed and implemented this scheme way back in 2008. He said Dixit had also worked in Madhya Pradesh and he must be aware that at that time the State had provided wheat to eligible people at Rs 3 per kg. This has now been lowered to Re 1 per kg. It is only after MP implemented this scheme that a number of other states did the same, he said. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla told reporters that the State had achieved the target of providing 24-hour power supply to non-agricultural consumers by 2013. Rs 25,000 crore has been spent for making round-the-clock power supply in all districts of the State, he added. He said that in 2003 the total availability of power in the State was 4,673 mw. This has been increased to 12,480 mw by March 2013.
