The council of ministers in Madhya Pradesh would take oath of the office on Tuesday at the Raj Bhavan at 3 pm. However, the names of the legislators to be inducted in the cabinet are yet to be finalized.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath had left for New Delhi on December 20 and since then he remained there finalizing the names for his cabinet. He has met Congress chief Rahul Gandhi several times deliberating the names of legislators to be inducted in the cabinet. Other senior leaders of the party, AK Antony, Digvijay Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia are trying to reach consensus of the faces, keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled in May, this year and the regional balance.
Other factor being considered included the number of faces from the camps of regional satraps. Since, strong contender for the post of chief minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has not been made chief minister, it is expected that more faces from his camp would be taken in the cabinet.
It is also being considered, whether Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and three Independents would be taken in the cabinet or not. However, the chief minister has categorically stated that there is no chance for the first timers.
Sources claimed that Nath along with other leaders would reach Bhopal in the afternoon and attend the cabinet oath taking ceremony. By Tuesday afternoon, the list would be final, sources added.
