Corruption, Cong, BJP are our main enemies: Ilmi

Corruption is our enemy number one followed by the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which are two sides of a same coin and are hand in gloves for their political gains, said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shazia Ilmi while talking to mediapersons here on Saturday.

Ilmi who was here to campaign for her party candidate Rachna Dhingra set aside the media reports claiming that the self-style AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has agreed to take support of mafia baron Mukhtar Ansari in the run for Varanasi lok Sabha seat where he is posing challenge to BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The AAP leader said that the people of Madhya Pradesh are fed up with the BJP and the Congress and are looking for a change since long, but are not able to do so due to non availability of any option, now they are eyeing on the AAP and look at it as a potential alternative of the BJP and the Congress. “We are very strong at over half a dozen parliamentary seats of the State and are hopeful that we would perform beyond expectations of the political community of the State by winning these seats,” she added.

She welcomed the Election Commission’s decision to ban BJP general secretary Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan and demanded that such leaders should be banned for life. “The Congress and the BJP are helping each other by communalising the elections, leaders like Shah and Khan are polarising the votes which is a dangerous sign for the democracy,” she added.

The AAP leader commenting on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s married status said that when a person could not set his marriage in order how could it be expected from his that he would control the nation.

Shazia later in the day carried out road show in support of Dhingra and also addressed a public meeting at historical Iqbal Maidan besides holding two corner meetings. The AAP leader would also campaign for her party candidates of Indore and Mandsaur parliamentary constituencies on Sunday where she would address public meetings.
