In order to meet the requirements and need of the India Post 2012 Project, Core Banking Solution (CBS) was launched in Bhopal GPO India Post here on Monday.
Notably, CBS till now has been launched in 350 postal headquarters in various circles of the country and has covered almost 530 post offices.
CBS is networking of branches, which enables customers to operate their accounts, and avail banking services from any post office on CBS network, regardless of where they maintain their account. The customer is no more the customer of a particular post office.
Thus, CBS is a step towards enhancing customer convenience through ‘Anywhere and anytime banking’. CBS or Postal Banking solution is part of the overall solution planned for India Post, 2012 project.
Here on Monday, the CBS was launched in Bhopal GPO and Indore Head Office making it the first CBS networking of Madhya Pradesh.
The CBS was inaugurated by Ashok Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services (Head Office of Madhya Pradesh Postal Circle). Further at Indore, Post Master General, Indore Ajay Kumar Roy inaugurated the CBS networking.
Under this particular service by India Post as many as 1062 post offices of Madhya Pradesh will be connected through CBS networking. Moreover, from the month of December 2014 to February 2015 as many as 41 Postal Head Offices will be selected for CBS networking.
Further, with the introduction of this service as many as 92149 account holders of Bhopal GPO will benefited with the CBS networking.
