Hanumanganj police was nabbed a man for killing his 70-year- old mother at Ibrahimganj under Hanumanganj police station area on Tuesday; frustrated over refusal to provide money accusded silted throat of his mother.
According to the police, the deceased Bhagwati Shakya was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by her son Gopal Shakya late in the evening on Monday. After the deceased got injured she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
In the initial investigation police found that the accused returned home in an inebriated state and started to fight with the deceased whom the accused used to fight frequently demanding money. The accused attacked her mother after her mother had a argument and refused to pay money.
Police said that the deceased had four sons and Gopal was among the ill behaved and used to have fight with the mother. After the incident accused escaped the spot and later he was arrested by the police on Tuesday. The body was sent for the post mortem after preliminary investigation.
The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The accused used to work as a labour.
