A police constable braved to save life of a drowning man at Bhadbhada bridge under Ratibad police station area on Saturday night. Frustrated by family discord a 62-year-old man tried to commit suicide by jumping from Bhadbhada Bridge but was saved by police constable of Ratibad police station.
According to the police victim JS Naagvanshi of Bhadbhada road was annoyed over the frequent quarrels in the family and decided to take extreme step. On Saturday at around 9.30 pm victim jumped from Bhadbhada Bridge and a police team was rushed to the spot after getting the information. One of the police constables Naveen Tripathi in a bid to rescue the victim jumped and helped the drowning victim.
When the victim was rescued he told the police that he was upset over the bickering family members and took the extreme step. The victim was lDC with the 25 battalion Bhopal and told that he was depressed due to his quarrels in the family due to which he wanted to commit suicide. Meanwhile, body of an unidentified woman was found in suspicious circumstances at VIP road area under Taliya police station area on Sunday. According to the police body of a woman was recovered from Sheetal Das ki Bagia area of VIP road.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Police said that the victim died to drowning but it has to be investigated that the victim fell incidentally or she was pushed into the water intentionally. Among other possibilities the victim might have committed suicide by jumping into the water.
