The State president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Member of Parliament Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that Cooperative Movement is a medium for democratic and economic empowerment. Through this movement the representatives have to present their service oriented commitment to the people, he added.
Chouhan while inaugurating a State level Cooperative workshop here on Friday said that it is one of the ways to connect with people. People who work in Cooperative sector have the armor of economic empowerment and it must be used to empower people, he added.
Chouhan further said that the furious the movement will be, the more it will be accepted by the people. This movement is a mirror reflection of the party’s commitment for the people and the success of this movement will improve the party’s image among them, he added. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the movement must be utilized for the betterment of the people. He further said that under the Cooperative sector the responsibility of Public Distribution System (PDS) has been given and if the PDS fails than a majority of the public will be affected by it and the party will be defamed, he added.
He appealed to the chairmen of Cooperative banks that in case of financial matters MPs and legislators have been given special powers to decide in favour of the people and create a positive environment.
State General Secretary of BJP Suhas Bhagat said that the farmers of the State get Rs 18 crore worth loan, fertilizers, seeds and farming equipments through the Cooperative societies. For these important works there is no alternative in the hands of administration or government. This proves the importance of Cooperative societies in the welfare of the people.
The specialist of the Cooperative movement lD Pandit highlighted the need to bring in innovations in the managerial area. He further said that there are 4650 Cooperative societies working in the State.
