The Bhopal art lovers could have a close look at the different art pieces at one stop. An exhibition ‘Contraste’ is being organised in the city that showcases various shades of artistic perceptions.

Organised by Alliance Française de Bhopal, Indo-French cultural centre, with the support of French Embassy in India Contraste is a group exhibition of paintings by three artists Pratik Koundinye, Christophe Nivert and Harshit Joshi that began here from Saturday at its premises.

‘Contraste’ is put up by three artists working in different forms and has their own way of expressing their thoughts. These works are exploration and abstracts of surroundings in artiste’s own visual language.

At the exhibition the spectators could have a look at most interesting art forms. Christophe’s works are his experiences he had in India, transforming visuals into tranquil and subtle forms with amalgamation of abstract and figurative.

“My compositions are simple, colorful in between abstract and figurative. I’m working with acrylic on canvas. I am inspired by the world around me, my emotions and feelings. My focus is on people who engaged their life in deferent ways. My paintings are the witnesses of Indian lifestyle. They show different aspects of India but all of them have positive mood and thoughts.”

Harshit’s works give a new perspective of observation and absorption through eyes, as forms are drawn in his own imagery of sublime but also with emotions under the several layers of paint. “My work is based on the points of attraction and distraction and stability and deviation of eyes. The absorption through eyes, its vision, its purities and impurities are the subjects of my works. To delineate emotions in the subject I depend on drawings, and experience joy in applying dusky colors, beauty of duskiness is nonpareil.”

Pratik works in blend of figures in semi abstract forms, his painting are drawn from daily incidents happening in city, painting forms through imagining reality in his own expressions. He says, “Works I paint are the ones that form around me in my own imagery. Gestures and expressions, in certain ways interpret human nature. It could seem outer appearance but it explains a lot about behavior.”

Contrast is of forms, changing the perceptive of language of painting of artists, forms with different narrations and creating correspondence with emotions and its environment.

The exhibition will be on view till October 21.
