The Congress has alleged that the BJP Government of the State boasts of women and child welfare works but the ground reality is that the schemes run for the welfare of these classes are actually meant to benefit the contractors and the Government staff.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Arun Yadav in a statement here on Wednesday alleged, “The BJP Government makes lots of claims for the women and child welfare but the ground reality is that whatever schemes run for the welfare of these classes on Government expenses in the State benefit the intended beneficiaries very less but these are actually meant for the contractors and employees and officials of Government who are making huge money out of them.”
Yadav further said that till now it was believed that the malnourished children get only namesake of benefit of the nutritious diet scheme run by the Women and Child Development Department but now it has also come to light that a larger section of the funds meant for making nutritious diet goes in the pocket of contractors involved in making it. And everybody knows that these contractors are close to the BJP, he added.
He said that now the health department of the state is also in the clutches of the corrupt. This department runs a scheme for providing nutritious diet to pregnant women. Nowadays, the employees of the hospitals and contractors are fearlessly making ‘dacoity’ on the diet of the pregnant women. Everybody from top to bottom of the Health Department is aware of this ‘dacoity’ but have kept mum over it due to that the act is going on without any hackles in all the district hospitals of the state, he added. He demanded that action be taken against those involved in these irregularities and the benefits of the schemes should be made available to actual beneficiaries.
