Contract Employees Union to stage protest, Satyagraha

Employee Union should not protest and contact Chief Minister Shivraj Singh to fulfill the demands of the unions’ are the words of Chief Minister Shivrah Singh Chouhan who has restrained the two lakh employees of the Madhya Pradesh Contract Employee Union from striking work for the last five years but now the Union is going to hold Satyagraha and stage protest, said the State president of Madhya Pradesh Contract Employee Union Ramesh Rathod, while speaking with the media persons on Sunday.

After submission of requests for regularisation of contract employees and equal pay for equal services along with other demands in the past few years the State Government has not heeded to any of the demands and instead of acceding to the demands services of 110 technical assistances working under Chief Minister Sadak Sampark Scheme , district programme managers working under NRHM at Betul, Gwalior, Narsinghpur and 6 engineers of Sarva Siksha scheme posted at Badwani were terminated without any reason.

Union demands that all the contract employees should be regualrised, direct recruitment should be stopped with immediate effect and contract employees should be regualrised, employees who have been unjustly removed from service should be reinstated and all the allowances should be given to the contract employees.

Rathore alleged that due to their contractual status, the employees were exploited by senior officials who exercised control over appointment and for the renewal of the contract a month’s pay has to be bribed to the senior officials. The contract employees are removed without any reason and even if the funds provided by the Central government get lapsed the state government is not willing to give allowances to contract employees.
