Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu & Kashmir to meet flood victims on Diwali and the army personnel posted at Siachen has displayed the BJP’s faith in the federal system of Constitution, said BJP State president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan.

Chouhan said that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his tour for ‘Message of Humanity’ faced protest by separatists who called a bandh that was used by the Congress and its allies who tried to gain political mileage by expressing their views and the same happened during PM Modi’s visit revealing the narrow mentality of the Congress.

The implantation of federal sentiments in such a manner has received praise by non BJP ruled States, he added.

PM Modi dissolved Planning Commission and empowered the States with autonomy of employment. The responsibility of allotment of funds was assigned to Finance Commission but to maintain transparency and avoid favouritism it has authorised finance commission to allocate funds to states. This has been done with the aim to empower the states that is important and in the same consequence the funds for coal block allocation would be provided to the states and this step would help in improving financial health of the states.

According to the present system Central Government used to decide royalty and have to satisfy with the decision but in the new system would be strengthened, said Chouhan.

Criticising Jammu&Kashmir Chief Minister, the BJP leader said that his single-point agenda was to postpone the elections. The people of Jammu- Kashmir are frustrated over the rule of National Congress and Congress.
