Cong's Arun Yadav raps State Govt for politicising farmers' plight

Terming the dharna and bandh in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, as State Government sponsored agitation, Madhya Pradesh Congress president Arun Yadav alleged that instead of helping out to the hail-affected farmers, Chief Minister is doing politics over the issue.

In a statement, Yadav told that the farmers in Madhya Pradesh suffered huge loss of their crops, but instead of helping the farmers in the time of crisis, chief minister engaged the government machinery in making arrangements for orgnaising bandh in the State and observing fast by him and his cabinet colleagues.

Yadav alleged that the constitutional and moral responsibility of the Chief Minister is to stand by the shocked farmer fraternity, but he is involved in doing politics so that he could win maximum seats in the upcoming lok Sabha elections.

“The Chief Minister betrayed the people of the State including farmers, by not discharging his constitutional duties,” he said, adding that this attitude of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to observe bandh and fast in Bhopal was merely a publicity gimmick.

He alleged that this is for the first time in the country that any chief minister has left the front and got engaged for his personal gains. His actions clearly indicate that besides not following the constitutional responsibility, Chouhan is not at all concerned towards the issues related to farmers.

Yadav stated that people of the State have come to know about the reality of Chouhan and his government and they would give a befitting reply to the ruling BJP in the upcoming parliamentary polls.
