Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday that the Congress is a marriage procession without groom and due to lack of leadership and direction, its leaders are feeling hurt and in desperation they are knocking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s doors.
Chouhan was addressing the BJP workers and office-bearers of the Chhindwara parliamentary constituency. He called on the Chhindwara electorate to free the constituency from Kamal Nath and facilitate development.
Chouhan said, “The Congress could no longer confuse the people of the country by serving slogans and promises. The people now understand the Congress gimmicks. There is wave of change across the country and the BJP is the centre of hope for the people of country.”
Chouhan said that the Congress gave the slogan of garibi hatao (remove poverty), but it failed in implementing it. In fact, it is the BJP government that has made efforts to remove poverty.
He said that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of the Centre failed to do anything for the development of Chhindwara during the past ten years. The heavyweight Union minister and MP of Chhindwara Kamal Nath sensing election tried to befool the people by announcing the opening of a medical college. But there is neither any provision of budget nor there is any planning for the medical college.
He called on the people to make Chhindwara a Congress-free, developing city. “You have given three and a half decades to the Congress and Kamal Nath. Give just five years to the BJP and see the difference,” he added.
