Congress observes foundation day

The Congress in Odisha observed the party’s 133rd foundation day at different places on Thursday.

But what was marked in the speeches of some senior leaders was that all is not still well in the State unit, be it leadership aspect or coordination among leaders and workers.

Presiding over the State-level programme at the Congress Bhawan here, PCC president Prasad Harichandan reiterated his phrase “Mu nuhen, aame” while stating that he is trying to organise leaders and workers to fight all upcoming elections together.

Many senior leaders, including Srikant Jena, were present.

At a programme at the Swaraj Ashram in Cuttack, former PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said, “The policies and principles of the Congress can only bring prosperity to Odisha.

“But for some of ineffectual leaders our party is facing defeats in elections in the State now.”

OPCC treasurer Md Moqim and hundreds of Congress leaders attended the foundation day celebration.

Patnaik called upon the party leaders and workers to come together to fight against the ‘corrupt’ BJD Government.
