Hours after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announcement of his Government's resolved of total ban on sand mining from the Narmada River, the State Congress claimed that the decision was made the under constant pressure from Congress party and further said that the decision could be in the wake of monsoon season and an opportunity of black marketing the illegally collected sand.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement here on Monday said, "The Government decision to ban legal-illegal sand mining is nothing more than the acceptance that illegal mining, collection, transpiration and black marketing of sand from Narmada River is going on."

Mishra said now the time has come the State Government make it public that under whose political patronage this illegal business was going on in the State over last eleven years and who were those people doing it.

Making mockery of the high-level committee formed under chairmanship of the Mining Minister of the State, the senior Congress leader said what could this committee do under the chairmanship of the Mining Minister who was till now watching the illegally act by keeping his eyes closed.

He said if the Chief Minister's heart is sincere enough over this decision than he should also recommend a CBI enquiry of the illegal mining carried out in the State during the past eleven years.

Besides, he wishes to know from the Chief Minister that if he is talking of stopping mining through machines or other equipments than he should make it clear that how many machines and equipments were having Government permission for the mining happened till now, he added.

The Chief spokesman said that in Chief Minister's Assembly constituency's Joshipur and Bagwada sand auctioning did not take place since last seven years than who did illegal mining of lakhs of trucks from there during this period.
