Producing evidence of illegal mining in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress party equated the State with scams in Karnataka under the then Chief Minister Yeddyurappa. MP Congress Committee chief spokesman KK Mishra while equating the mining scams in the State much larger than the scams reported in Karnataka under the then Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa reiterated that it only the State Government that is patronising all types of mafias in the State including sand mafia.
Mishra in a statement here on Tuesday said, “After making claims of taking State out from BIMARU tag during the past 11 years, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State is burdened with over Rs1.06 lakh crore debt, is out to oblige the sand mafias without having concern over its empty treasury.” Mishra further said that if this is not right than the State Government should tell that as to why the Shiva and Vanshika Construction Companies have been allowed to carry on excavation till June 30 despite expiry of their sand contracts. What honest intent of the government is hidden behind this decision of the State GovernmentIJ The excavation limit of both these companies has come to an end on April 6, 2015. Under which hidden agenda the State Government overlooking its empty treasury, house constructors and common man is out to oblige these companiesIJ Which BJP leaders are associated with these companies, he asked.
He alleged that a top leader of the BJP holding very high office in the State Government and his near and dear bureaucrats are having stakes in the Shiva Construction Company while the BJP MlA from Bohani assembly constituency of Narsinghpur Sanjay Sharma is the owner of the Vanshika Construction Company. He said that as per the provisions if the sand contracts could not be allotted or there is any dispute over them, then they could be run only by the Government machinery, but in these cases all norms have been overlooked.
