The list of Congress candidates for the Assembly elections would be declared after two visit of the state by Congress National president Rahul Gandhi’s return to Delhi; the list is likely to be announced late in the night on October 31.

Decision on 200 candidates have been done by Congress, while candidates on 30 seats are yet to be finalized which would done possibly after BJP’s fielding contestants on these seats.

With patience Congress is playing wait and watch policy on 30 constituency seats which would contested by big wigs of BJP and after BJP would announce candidates on these 30 constituencies, Congress is likely to field its contestants who could give a tough fight and have potential to claim victory. Senior leaders, former and sitting Member of Parliament could be fielded by Congress on these 30 constituency seats.

The strategy of Congress is to focus mostly on Malwa, Gwalior –Chambal division, Vindhya and Mahakoushal regions of the state. The reason to devise strategy is the massive outrage against SC-ST Act in these regions and Congress is aiming to gain maximum political mileage.

The guideline which has been made for providing tickets to candidates is to meticulous screen in selecting the candidates and those with tainted image, criminal background and strongmen would not be fielded.

Congress MLA having good image in public would be given chance to contest. The survey conducted by Congress have minutely investigated image of probable candidates.

Losing candidates who lost with less margin or around 3000 votes and those wining by over 20000 or more than 20000 votes could be given chance to contest. Possibility of refraining from contesting few of the sitting 46 MLAs could not be denied.
