With an aim to bring the party back to power in Madhya Pradesh, State unit of Congress had a rare show of unity by prominent leaders by sharing a common stage on Saturday at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, Union Ministers Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, State Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh and former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri came together to address mediapersons.

Earlier in the day, they participated in a meeting where the party's strategy for the forthcoming Assembly elections was discussed.

Kamal Nath said that the BJP was ousted from power from the three States of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Karnataka for its poor performance and would meet the same fate in Madhya Pradesh. He said that during the BJP rule since 2003, Madhya Pradesh has become 'disabled' and despite tall claims, no fresh investment was being made.

Jyotiraditya Scindia said that a 100-day action plan for the Congress campaign for the Assembly elections would be chalked out soon. Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said that no one believed him when he used to say that there was unity in the Madhya Pradesh Congress but he was proved right today.

"There was unity in Madhya Pradesh Congress, there is unity in the State Congress and there will always be unity in it," Singh observed.

Party sources said that the Congress has decided to extensively use social media to counter the publicity of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It was also decided that party's manifesto would be prepared in New Delhi and chargesheets would be prepared at local levels to expose the misdeeds of local BJP leaders and Ministers.

PCC chief Kantilal Bhuria asked the workers and leaders to submit their valuable suggestions so that effective strategy could be formed to win the Assembly elections.

It was decided in the meeting that tickets for the Assembly polls would be finalised by July 21. All the leaders present in the meeting agreed that supporters of senior leaders would be given due weightage in ticket distribution.

All the leaders unanimously said that Congress has been united and would remain united to serve the society and would form Government in next Assembly polls.
