State Congress extended on Wednesday its full support to the agitating clerical cadre employees of the State.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Kantilal Bhuria, in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, said, “Congress party is raising the issue of discord in the salaries of the clerical cadre employees since long before the State Government. But the State Government has never taken up the issue seriously forcing these employees to move on statewide indefinite strike.”
Bhuria further said that this situation was not good at all for the Government and added that it should be more sensitive and have practical approach towards its employees. “The clerical cadre employees were dissatisfied due to the injustice meted out to them by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State,” he added.
He reminded that the employees have been on indefinite strike over the last 14 days, due to which common man has been facing difficulties and the public welfare works have come to a grinding halt in the Government offices.
Rejecting the five-member team constituted by the BJP Government to look into the demands of the clerical cadre employees the Congress leader said by forming the committee the Government was trying to buy time and avoid demands of these employees. Chief Minister should hold direct discussions with the agitating employees and should resolve their single point demand and should remove the discord in their salaries. This would be in the interest of both the State Government and people of State, he added.
The former Union Minister said the Government in order to provide good governance and public oriented development the Government should always remain in contact with all sections of its employees. The erstwhile Congress Government of the State used to remain in touch with its employees, he added.
