The opposition Congress while raising doubts over the claims of MP police about an encounter of eight SIMI operatives, who had escaped from Bhopal jail in the wee hours on Monday, demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resignation.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav raised doubts over the statement of Bhopal IG that the runaway terrorists were in possession of ultramodern weapons. “The Congress party’s stand over terrorists is very clear that terrorist does not belong to any religion, section or caste, hence strict action should be taken against them,” said Yadav.
Yadav said but several doubts raises over the way whole Bhopal episode took place and the government need to clear those doubts including that why the central advisory over High Alert were overlooked especially in view of the Dipawali festivalIJ Why and on whose instructions central government’s High Alert advisory was overlooked, he questioned.
He said that as per jail manual not more than eight dreaded terrorists should be kept in a jail than why 35 terrorists were kept in the Bhopal jailIJ Why the State Government didn’t take lessons from the jailbreak incidence of KhandwaIJ Why the security of a jail during high alert on just two constablesIJ Why the terrorists remained near Bhopal for over 8-9 hours despite escaping from jailIJ During this period how they obtained weapons and who provided them these weaponsIJ
Meanwhile, former MPCC spokesman and All India Personal law Board member Arif Masood while asking that who would take responsibility of jailbreak and how they obtained weapons demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resignation.
Masood in a statement said, “The incidence of jailbreak from high security ISO certified jail of the state capital is no ordinary thing, it is matter of investigation that how these terrorists manage to escape from the jail that remains under CCTV camera surveillance. This when some of these accused were already involved in Khandwa jail break, than how they again succeeded in their intents, the government and administration certainly need to tell the people of the country.”
