The Opposition Congress after taking lead in declaring candidates for the bypolls on three Assembly seats of the State scheduled on August 21 also announced its star campaigners’ list before the ruling BJP.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav on Thursday forwarded the list of star campaigners to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the State. The Assembly constituencies that would go for the bypoll include Agar (SC), Vijayraghogarh and Bahoriband.
MPCC spokesman JP Dhanopiya in a statement informed that besides Yadav, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Satyadev Katare, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and in-charge for State Mohan Prakash, AICC general secretary and MP Digvijay Singh, former Union Ministers and MPs Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, former MPCC presidents and former Union Ministers Suresh Pachouri and Kantilal Bhuria, AICC secretary in-charge for the State Sanjay Nirupam, Aslam Sher Khan, AICC secretaries Sajjan Singh Verma and Bala Bachchan, MP Satyavrat Chaturvedi, former leader of Opposition in the State Assembly and MlA Ajay Singh, former MP Rameshwar Nikhra, former Minister Bisahulal Singh and former MlA Govind Rajput are listed in the star campaigners list of the Congress.
MPCC women cell president Mandvi Chouhan, MP Sewa Dal chief organiser Yogesh Yadav, MP Youth Congress president Kunal Chowdhry and MP NSUI president Vipin Wankhede are also included in the list of star campaigners of the Congress. Besides these leaders, the star campaigners list of the State Congress also include name of 19 legislators of the State.
