To support the Katni Superintendent of Police Gaurav Tiwari, Congress activists here on Wednesday staged protest at the petrol pump near 5 number bus stop of the city on Tuesday.
Huge police force was deployed in order to stop the march of the activists.
Police personnel used mild force to disperse the activists as they were trying to cross the barricades to reach the bungalow of Home Minister Bhupendra Singh.
Congress leader and Corporator Monu Saxena led the activists. Saxena alleged that a minister of the State Government is stuck in the ‘hawala case’.
The Government has transferred the SP Gaurav Tiwari who was investigating the case instead of sacking the Minister.
The State Government is protecting the minister instead of sacking him, he added.
