Ambassador of DR Congo Balumuene Nkuna Francois along with Second Counselor Kasongo Musenga visited BHEl Bhopal to review the progress of Grand Katende Hydro Electric project order placed on BHEl.
Executive Director, BHEl, Bhopal Shashi Ranjan Prasad and General Manager (Hydro) Kishore Purswani, welcomed the team from DR Congo.On this occasion General Manager (P & D & IT) Sanjeev Gupta gave a presentation on Hydro Turbines. VS Rao and A Dixit gave a presentation on Hydro Generators.The team visited Hydro laboratory, Water Turbine Manufacturing block, New Hydro Block and New Transformer Block to physically review the progress of Grand Katende project.
BHEl is executing the prestigious order of setting up of (4 x 16 MW) Hydro Power Units in Democratic Republic of Congo. Various activities like model testing, design and manufacturing of some important items have been completed. The major supplies for the project will be disptached in the present year.
The Ambassador in his address expressed satisfaction on the progress of various activities in BHEl saying that the progress at the site is also very good. “I am very much happy for realization made for the machine and equipment of the Grand Katende Dam HEP, a dream that became reality, thanks to the will of the President of DR Congo. BHEl is a giant Industry of Hydro Electrical equipment in India”, added The Ambassador.
General Manager Material Management AKS Guru, General Manager, CDC,PMG and CMG Subhash Saxena, General Manager, Fabrication AR Bhattacharya, General Manager, Hydro Engineering and MM Dinesh Kumar, Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager, P & D& IT and other senior officials were also present.
