Two Congress party workers on Monday lodged a complaint with the cyber cell of the Bhopal police against Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Ankita Jain who is considered close to AAP leader and noted poet Kumar Vishwas, for posting indecent and vulgar photographs of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the social networking site Facebook.

Earlier in the day, the Congress workers burnt effigies of Jain and Kumar Vishwas along with printouts of Facebook posts including Jago Bhopal and Dekho Bhopal.

DSP cyber cell Sunil Rajore while talking to The Pioneer said, “A complaint has been lodged against unknown person under Sections 66 (A) and 66 (C) of the IT Act and Sections 469, 471 and 509 of the IPC.”

However, Rajore further said, “District Congress Committee (DCC) spokesman Syed Osaf Ali and Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) special invitee member Saeed Ahmed Surur have in a written complaint alleged that one Ankita Jain has posted indecent and vulgar photographs of Congress president and Prime Minister on her Facebook page.”

He said that though the Congress leaders have submitted named complaint but the police have registered complaint against unknown person and would investigate the case. “If we find any substantial evidence against the person named in the complaint, only then, we would name her in the FIR.”

Earlier in the day hundreds of Congress workers led by MPCC secretary Abha Singh, former secretary Akbar Beg and Sanjeev Saxena held demonstration at the cyber cell.

Surur said, “We have lodged the complaint with the cyber cell against one Ankita Jain who has posted indecent pictures of our leaders on her Facebook pages. We have demanded that the pages defaming our leaders should immediately be blocked and the persons responsible should be booked and punished.”
