Hundreds of Congress workers led by party State spokesperson Deepti Singh tied black ribbons and took out a foot march from 6 number bus stop to the statue of BR Ambedkar at MP Nagar on Thursday to protest against the Government demanding justice for the innocent victim of the rape case.
Police arrested the protesting Congress workers including Bhopal District Congress Committee president PC Sharma, Deepti Singh and state Congress secretary Toqeer Nizami. All of them were released. The Congress activists warned CM and the State Government that the women and the girls of Congress party will punish the criminals themselves if this kind of incident would happen again.
Dipti Singh appealed CM that at the place of showoff he should be the brother of the women and mama of the girls of the state in reality.
Deepti Singh further said that Chief Minister should stop the ‘political Rakshabandhan’ programme and provide the respect and security to women of the state. Otherwise these sisters and nieces would break the Chief Minister’s dream of ‘Golden MP’, she added.
Singh further added that the chief minister would not be able to take ‘selfies’ with the beautiful women in America because the women would feel unsafe with him.
State Congress General Secretary PC Sharma, Corporator Guddu Chouhan, Congress State Secretary Toqeer Nizami, Monu Saxena, Jeetendra Santosh Kansana, ‘Kisan’ Congress Vice President Swadesh Sharma, Manish Tolani, Hemlata Sharma and Meena Sharma and hundreds of party workers were present during the protest.
