Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is ready to struggle for the people at the ground level and moreover is ready to get cane-charged for that.
Rahul here on Monday called on the State delegates of the party to strengthen the organisation to such an extent that the defeat suffered in the last Assembly elections should not be repeated further.
While addressing the Congress delegates from across the State at the Rajeev Gandhi auditorium of the State Congress office, Rahul said, “Now the Congress would contest the general and Panchayat elections with full might and has to emerge victorious in them.”
Rahul further said, “I am fully aware of the reasons for party’s defeat in the Assembly election and vowed that he would work to make the party organisation so strong that it would be election wining party that would be engaged in serving the people of the State.”
We need to get united for winning most of the seats in the parliamentary elections from the State. The working of the party would be overhauled from top to bottom and it would be made agile and fit, he added.
He said that no foul play would be allowed in the party organisation in Madhya Pradesh. “I have told the state president Arun Yadav that he should not be seen only in Delhi and Bhopal; tour all the districts of the State and reach villages, towns and cities. Fight for the people at the ground. Now, the Congress would fight for the people of the State with full might and I am ready to get cane charged for fighting for the people,” he added.
He said that now onwards it would be considered in the party to use the right man in the right place, the leaders and workers who have the organisational capabilities would be adjusted in the organisation and those who are fit to contest and win elections would be fielded in the elections. In future, the party would take only that step that would benefit most to the organisation, he added.
The Congress vice president said that to remove Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in the State is a big challenge for the party despite the fact that the BJP Government of the State is neither clean nor working in the interest of the people.
