Cong: War among haves, have-nots

Buoyed with the grand victory of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar assembly elections, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav on Sunday described coming by-elections in the State as a fight between the haves and the have-nots.

"It is not a contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in the by-elections to Ratlam-Jhabua parliamentary constituency and Dewas assembly constituency," said Yadav, before embarking on election campaign.

Hitting out at the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) Government of the State; he said that the regime has engaged Government machinery in the bypolls. Every effort is being made to secure an electoral victory by luring voters through money or by threatening them.

Training his guns on the Centre and the state government, Congress Madhya Pradesh In-charge General Secretary Mohan Prakash said the prices of pulses shot up due to scams. "If there was a shortage, pulses should have been imported earlier. Now, the prices have spiralled in other countries as well. The government is tightening its noose on pulse traders, but seized pulses are not reaching people," he added.

The leader duo claimed that the Congress would emerge victorious at both the places as the BJP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Narendra Modi stands exposed before the people. Only slogans and speeches could not do any good for the people, the development BJP claims is not visible anywhere, in these circumstances we are sure that people of both the constituencies would teach a lesson to the BJP and would make Congress victorious.

Notably, the by-election for the Ratlam-Jhabua lok Sabha seat was necessitated by the death of incumbent BJP MP Dileep Singh Bhuria while the demise of Tukoji Rao Puar, scion of Dewas royal family, has led to the assembly bypoll in Dewas.
