The main Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the Congress staged a walk-out on Friday over the issue of a daylong strike by lakhs of employees under the banner of the Adhikari-Karmchari Sanyukt Morcha.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Deputy leader of the Opposition Bala Bachchan said, "The Government is anti-employee. A lathi-charge was perpetrated on guest teachers and approximately a thousand employees are preparing to tender their resignations."

In the wake of Bachchan seeking a reply from the Treasury bench, Jitu Patwari and several other sloganeering Opposition members staged the walkout.

Kunwarji Kothar of the ruling BJP said that he was falsely implicated recently by Congress members in the kidnapping of a child. He demanded a censure motion. At that juncture, Girish Bhandari of the Congress and many other Opposition members rose and began creating pandemonium. Tempers cooled following the intervention by Speaker Sitasaran Sharma and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra.

Besides, the issue of a 22-year old labourer's death in a ghastly manner in Chhindwara district, came up in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly today.

Raising the matter during Zero Hour, Jitu Patwari said, "late on Wednesday, a road roller was carelessly driven over the worker who was asleep after duty at the under-construction Machagora Dam under the Pench Project. An inquiry must be ordered." Patwari was supported by several other members of his party.

The incident came to light yesterday morning when other labourers reached the site for work and spotted Bahmanwada village resident Adivasi Jairam's partially buried clothes. Digging brought up the corpse.
