Criticising the Narendra Modi regime at the Centre for its wrong policies, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Member and former Chairman of State Minority Department of Congress Mohammad Saleem said that Congress will launch a week-long agitation from Tuesday.

Saleem talking to media persons here on Monday said, “Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies, the country's economy derailed and owing to such policy corruption is increasing manifold. The Prime Minister also failed to keep his promise to provide jobs to one crore unemployed youths.”

Saleem further said that during the two years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule at centre, everyone from small industrialists to farmers is suffering, while the incident of farmers' suicide continued.

He said the Modi government failed to bring black money stashed in the foreign banks, on the contrary, white money of Rs 9,500 crore went to overseas in a form of businessman Vijay Mallya.

The Congress leader said the situation was no better in Madhya Pradesh and the state regime was indulging in corruption while law and order situation is deteriorating day by day. He said the women were not safe in the state as the incidents of rapes and killings have been taking place every day.

Saleem said during the demonstration, the Congress workers would burn PM Modi, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his ministerial colleagues in effigies. The demonstration would begin from Peer Gate, Jehangirabad and Iqbal Maidan in the state capital from Tuesday, he added.

He said that despite the economic slowdown of 2008, the then Congress-led UPA government at the Centre under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had ensured that it did not have any effect on the country's economy.
