To counter Madhya Pradesh ChMef minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ ahead of the Assembly polls, the State Congress unit is planning to launch a mass outreach programme in all the districts.

The Congress planned to take out a ‘rath’ (chariot) in each district of the State to distribute pamphlets among the people and to hold meetings at weekly market places, party sources said. The core team of the State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria is collecting posters and other publicity material to be circulated by way of the raths, they said.

Along with the raths, films will also be shown targetting some ruling BJP leaders who have courted controversy or have been allegedly involved in criminal activities, including former finance minister Raghavji, sources added. Bhuria while talking to The Pioneer said the Centre had given maximum fund to Madhya Pradesh under the Backward Regional Grant Fund Scheme in the last 10 years. However, it was sad that the BJP Government was unable to give a proper account of the manner in which it had spent this money, and a wave for change was sweeping Madhya Pradesh and BJP is sure to be voted out of power in the Assembly election.

Bhuria further said that the BJP Government had only made empty announcements, and its ‘Atal Jyoti Abhiyan’ has failed to improve power situation in the state. “Hardly a day passes when most places in the State do not face power cuts,” the he added. He slammed the BJP Government for its alleged misrule and corruption which had made life of the common man in the state miserable.
