The Congress party is not leaving anything to chance and is making all efforts to keep the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam alive. On Wednesday, a Congress party delegation led by PCC chief Arun Yadav submitted some more documents related to the scam to the SIT.
After submitting the documents, Yadav alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is making all out efforts to save Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Besides, the Chief Minister is also providing patronage to the accused in the scam.
The delegation visited the SIT office here on Wednesday and called on the SIT chief Chandresh Bhushan and submitted evidence to him against two more Ministers — a Union Minister and a Minister of the State Cabinet — and some highly placed officials for involvement in the MPPEB scam.
Yadav, later talking to media persons, said, "The names of Governor Yadav and his family members have surfaced in the MPPEB scam, then why he is not resigning. This exposes the BJP's game plan that it is saving Chief Minister Chouhan under the guise of Governor."
Yadav alleged that the Chief Minister is providing patronage to the accused of the scam, and this is evident from the fact that he shared dais with an absconding scam accused.
He said that, "We have submitted concrete evidence against a Union Minister and a Minister of State Cabinet besides some highly placed officials to the SIT."
He said the names of the Ministers and the officials could not be revealed at this point of time as it would affect the investigations and also refused to make public the details of the evidence submitted to the SIT claiming that the documents submitted are confidential and could not be made public at this point of time.
However, the Congress leaders were divided on the facts submitted to the SIT, while the State Congress president claimed that the evidence submitted was against one Union and one State Minister, the chief spokesperson of the State, KK Mishra, said that the evidence submitted are against two Union Ministers, one State Minister, two former Ministers, one sitting MP and about a dozen IAS officers and demanded enquiry against all of them.
