Cong questions Govt spending in Shahdol

The State Congress questioned Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as to why its spending crores of rupees for election-bound tribal-populated Shahdol and not a single penny on malnourished children. Besides, not a single word of sympathy was spoken over death of hundreds of children death due to malnutrition in Sheopur.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesman KK Mishra in a statement here on Tuesday said, “It is surprising that before the notification for Shahdol lok Sabha by-poll announcement of development works of `2890 crore within a month in a tribal populated district Shahdol have been made while neither a single penny has been given and nor a word of sympathy has been expressed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the other tribal populated district Sheopur where  hundreds of children’s death due to malnutrition. This is perhaps because in Sheopur only deaths are taking place and no election is proposed there.”

Mishra further said that it is amazing to note that on the one hand the announcements of `1014.12 crore only Ratlam city and thousands of crore rupees for other assembly constituencies of Jhabua made by CM Chouhan fifteen months back for in Tribal populated Ratlam – Jhabua parliamentary constituency  besides hundreds of foundation stone laying ceremonies were done during that period as the by-election was due there but till date work over even one of those works has not been started neither did the chief minister enquired about those works after the elections, he added.

Similarly, announcements were made in the Tribal populated Ghoradongari assembly by-polls, Nepanagar, Maihar, Dewas, Bahoribandh and Garoth assembly constituencies by-elections but after the elections all of them vanished.

The senior Congress leader wish to know from the chief minister that when there is no provision for such works in the budget of the state than from where and how the amount for these works, the people of the state have every right to know this.
