About half a dozen Congress parliamentarians have opened a front against the party leadership over ticket distribution in State for the Assembly elections. Most of the MPs are those who are seeking party tickets for either for their kin or supporters.
On Monday, these parliamentarians called on the chairman of the Congress Screening Committee Madhusudan Mistry in New Delhi to put forth their view.
Sources from the Congress informed that party MPs from Madhya Pradesh including Premchand Guddu, Sajjan Singh Verma, Uday Pratap Singh and Vijaylaxmi Sadho and two others sought audience from Mistry on Monday morning.
Mistry met them in the night. During the meeting MPs apprised him that when on the basis of winnable faces and strong image kin and supporters of other senior leaders including Central Ministers are being provided party tickets than why their kin and supporters claims are not considered.
Mistry assured these parliamentarians that their views and suggestions would be considered in the screening committee meeting.
Indeed, Guddu is seeking ticket for his son Ajeet Borasi from Alot, Sadho is seeking ticket for her brother Devendra Sadho from Maheshwar, Verma is seeking ticket for his brother from Sonkatch and Singh is seeking ticket for his supporters.
Similarly, Khandwa MP Arun Yadav is seeking ticket for his brother Sachin from Khargone. Yadav is of the view that due to his father and former deputy chief minister Subhash Yadav’s death his brother has the right over this seat. Sadho’s brother Devendra has lost from Maheswar in 2008 assembly election; his sister is also seeking ticket from there.
The Congress in its first list declared on Friday named late former deputy speaker of the State Assembly Harvansh Singh’s son Rajnish, while Sailana legislator Prabhudayal Gehlot’s son Harsh and Jobat legislator Sulochana Rawat’s son Vishal also figured in the first list.
The fuming MPs were of the view that when the ki of these leaders could figure in the first list than why their relatives are denied of tickets.
