The Congress legislators would formulate a strategy to win local body elections in Madhya Pradesh scheduled for next month. Besides, the grand old party’s MlAs would also decide a line of action to corner the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State in a meeting to be held here on October 28.
The Congress MlAs would gather here on October 28 with a mission of formulating a strategy for winning local body elections of their respective areas besides it would probably for the first time since the Congress was ousted from power in the State in 2003 that its MlAs would meet a couple of months prior to Assembly session for chalking out plan to corner the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP Government of the State.
On many occasions the Congress legislative Party (ClP) used to meet couple of days prior to the Assembly session, but this time the meet would take place a couple of months in advance on behest of leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare. Katare wants to prepare the party MlAs in such a way that they could aggressively take on the ruling party in the house. Besides he wants to take MlAs referendum for improving party position in the local body elections.
Sources within the Congress party informed that there are possibilities that State Congress president Arun Yadav would also remain present in the important meet.
Sources said that the Congress strategists did not want to leave any loose point while cornering the government in the assembly during the coming winter session. In these circumstances preparations by the main opposition to prepare its MlAs so early would increase governments problems, the Congress strategists believe.
The Congress has remained on the attack during the last few assembly sessions that has affected opposition and government relations and the conditions soared so much that the ruling party brought privilege motion against the leader of opposition. Party sources informed that before the winter session of assembly meeting of the shadow cabinet would also held in that working of the shadow minister would be reviewed.
